| | | | | Supplier: Natural Factors Nutritional Products | | Brand: Natural Factors | | Case Size: 12 | | Lung, Bronchial & Sinus Health 90 tabs | | | Stock #: 035331 | | Description: Virtually all of us take the ability to get a good breath of air for granted. However, for people suffering from chronic sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive lung disease, and other diseases of the respiratory tract, an effortless breath of air is greatly appreciated.
One of the most important features of healthy airways is the elasticity and fluidity of the respiratory tract secretions. If the mucus is too thick, it blocks airways and causes difficulty in breathing. Fortunately Lung, Bronchial & Sinus Health is a safe and effective natural product that can make breathing easier.
This formulation can help those with chronic respiratory problems. It is a useful adjunct for anyone with asthma, bronchial congestion, and sinus problems. It is also ideal for occasional hayfever, or to deal with air pollution, such as car exhaust and second hand smoke. It can even help with a cold that seems to hang on too long.
| | Benefits & How it Works: Expectorants are effective in improving bronchial secretions in cases of sinusitis, bronchitis, and other bronchial irritations. Expectorants like wild cherry bark, mullein and horehound work best when combined with mucolytics(substances like bromelain and NAC which break down mucous); and soothing demulcents(substances like marshmallow that soothe irritated mucous membranes).
N-acetylcysteine:
NAC is a derivative of the amino acid cysteine and has a history as a mucolytic in the treatment of acute and chronic lung conditions like emphysema, bronchitis, chronic asthma and cystic fibrosis. It splits the sulfur linkages of mucoproteins thereby reducing viscosity of bronchial and lung secretions. It improves bronchial and lung function, reduces cough, and improves oxygen saturation in the blood.
NAC also increases the manufacture of glutathione - a major antioxidant for the entire respiratory tract and lungs.
Ivy Extract:
Ivy has a long history of use in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). It reduces bronchial spasms and improves respiratory secretions thereby improving lung function and reducing asthma attacks.
Bromelain:
A sulfur-containing enzyme from pineapple, bromelain has been shown to exert several effects of benefit in clearing airways, suppressing coughs, and reducing the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions. Its respiratory decongesting effect increases lung function and capacity. Bromelain also is helpful in acute sinusitis.
Mullein:
Mullein is one of the most important herbs for the relief of chest congestion and dry, irritating coughs. It is non-toxic and has been approved as an expectorant useful for the treatment of respiratory catarrh. The mucins in mullein help to heal and alleviate inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. The saponins help to dissolve phlegm and encourage expectoration.
Horehound:
Horehounds's reputation as a a superb cough remedy goes back 400 years and is an approved treatment for bronchial catarrh. A bitter diterpenoid lactone, marrubiin, exerts a direct stimulatory effect on the secretions on the bronchial mucosa.
Wild Cherry bark:
The bark is much more effective than most cough drop or throat lozenge-type preparations and is without equal for reducing symptoms of respiratory distress.
Marshmallow:
Marshmallow protects and soothes inflamed mucous membranes. Its demulcent properties bring relief to dry coughs, bronchial asthma, bronchial congestion, and pleurisy.
