Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a naturally occurring sulfur compound and nutritional component of many foods. It is found in the normal diets of humans and almost all other animals. MSM is made up of 34% sulfur, the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body. Our medical advisor, Stanley Jacob, M.D., has been studying the clinical effects of MSM for more than twenty years. All MSM in supplements must be manufactured, making purification an essential step in the production of MSM. There are two methods by which MSM is purified-crystallization or distillation.

MSM's 460° F (238° C) boiling point allows pure MSM to be isolated from solution, producing the purest MSM available.
